Summer Reading Program kicks off with the magical interactive multicultural folklore and story-based plays of "We Tell Stories." Children are chosen from the audience to dress up and participate in the plays. The performances of "We Tell Stories" will take place every Wednesday at 2 pm from June 27th through August 8th. The June 27th program is entitled "Tricky Dreams" and features trickster character stories of various cultures. The plays which will be performed are: the African American tale, "The Lion in the Well;" an African story, "Akimba and the Magic Cow;" and a Native American tale, "Coyote." Performances are made possible in part by the Culver City Performing Arts Grant Program with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment.
