The Southern California Dulcimer Heritage will be hosting its 18th annual Harvest Festival of Dulcimers.
Featured performers will be Andy Young, from Chicago, on hammered dulcimer and Aaron O’Rourke, from Tallahassee, FL, on fretted dulcimer. They are both nationally known players of dulcimers, and many excellent local players will also be teaching and performing.
An 11:30 AM concert (with Golden Strings super-group) is free and open to the public, in addition to the ticketed twilight concert at 6 PM.
For those wanting to learn more, teaching workshops will be held all day long on how to play both types of dulcimer, plus classes on guitar, button accordion, tin whistle, ukulele, percussion and arranging. There will also be food and musical vendors, and musicians young and old will be around the grounds, jamming and singing.
On Sunday, September 23, featured performers will give master classes and encore mini-concerts.
