Information for Artists

Artists for public art projects commissioned by the City of Culver City or the Culver City Redevelopment Agency are selected through a competitive process. Larger projects may include a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and/or a Request for Proposal (RFP). Submissions at the RFQ and RFP stages are reviewed by a panel comprised of visual arts professionals, community representatives and a project team member when applicable. Recommendations made by the panel are considered by the Cultural Affairs Commission and by the City Council.

Culver City has maintained an artist image registry and contact list since the public art program’s inception in 1988. Calls to Artists (RFQs or RFPs) are posted on the City’s web site and also distributed electronically to those included on the registry list. From time to time, mailing lists from other local public art programs are also used. Private developers choosing to commission public art for their project sometimes request access to our image registry and contact list.

Please be sure your information is up-to-date. To change your contact information only, please notify the Public Art Coordinator via e-mail. To update images or other information about you in our registry, please download the Artist Image Registry application form (pdf) and submit a completed copy with your supplemental information to:
