Fees & Charges

The City charges user fees to recoup the cost of providing certain services. These services span across a number of departments and cover a wide array of activities; including plan check and inspection fees for new construction projects, registration fees for swim lessons, pet licensing fees, room rental fees, etc. The purpose of these fees is to either fully or partially recover the cost of providing the service. The Finance Division is responsible for updating and adopting the Fees & Charges schedule annually.

Periodically, a study is conducted by a consultant to calculate the fully burdened cost of providing each fee based service. The study is reviewed by Council and a cost recovery level is determined for each fee, which shall be adjusted accordingly.
