Information Technology Awards


InfoWorld Technology Award
InfoWorld announced the winners of its InfoWorld 100 awards. Under the government category, Culver City was honored for its WIFI deployment. The annual awards honor companies that demonstrate the most creative use of cutting-edge technologies to further their business goals. Companies were nominated by InfoWorld readers, technology partners, and end-user companies in late-summer. Solutions must stretch beyond the typical, off-the-shelf solution, using multiple technologies in innovative ways to serve well-defined business goals.

MISAC Award
The Culver City Information Technology department receives their 7th MISAC award in 2009. The Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC) is a statewide organization of information technology professionals from over 200 cities and specials districts. The association promotes peer-to-peer communication among municipal IS professionals, offers, personal and staff development and enrichment. MISAC established a certification program to recognize exemplary achievement and performance in Information Technology practices. The City of Culver City under the direction of John Richo was recognized as an agency that excels in creative and efficient uses of resources in local government.

Helen Putnam Award
Culver City receives the Helen Putnam Award for Excellence certificate of honorable mention and appreciation by the League of California Cities. Sponsored by the League Partners Program, the Helen Putnam Award for Excellence program was designed to recognize and promote the outstanding efforts and innovative solutions made by city governments each year.

GovSpot Award
Culver City is awarded the Government Site of the Month by GovSpot. Each month GovSpot.com recognizes an outstanding local or state government Web site that demonstrates innovative use of technology and provides extraordinary value to its community.

W3 Awards
The Culver City Information Technology Department is a W³ Silver Award Winner for Government Website. The W³ Awards honors creative excellence on the web, sanctioned by the International Academy of Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms.
