Disaster Awareness Training Program


Your local Culver City Firefighters invite you to join the Team! Become a member of Culver City's emergency preparedness team and make a difference in the event of a disaster.

Who is Eligible?
Training is available to residents of Culver City and anyone who works in Culver CIty and are 16 years of age and older.

What, When & Where?
Firefighters and CERT instructors will train you to help your family & neighbors by teaching you how to be better prepared first. There are four class sessions. About 22 hours of training includes Intro to Disaster Response, First Aid in Disasters, Fire Suppression, and Light Search & Rescue. The training takes place right in Culver City at the Fire Training Facility at 9275 Jefferson Boulevard.

Class 2008-001 February 19, 23, and March 1, 8
Class 2008-002 June 3, 7, 14, 21
Class 2008-003 September 16, 20, 27, and October 4

Tuesday Evenings: 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

How do you sign up?
Commit yourself to helping yourself and others. Download the CERT flyer and complete the tear-off and return by mail or in person to the Culver City Fire Department, City Hall, 9770 Culver Boulevard, Culver City, CA 90232.
Register early, class size is limited to 25 to allow for plenty of "hands-on" training.
