Enjoy Free Fare on Bike to Work Day
Let’s face it – biking around town or using public transit can be a nerve-wracking ordeal if you’ve never done them before. We want to make it easy for you to try alternatives to driving, which is why the City of Culver City has planned informative events, rides, and workshops throughout Bike Month!
Bike to Work Day, on Thursday, May 18th, is the next event in the series, providing an opportunity to test the waters with biking and public transit. Culver CityBus will offer free transit to all commuters who board with bicycles and/or bike helmets. Simply bring your gear aboard, enjoy free fare for the day, and see the changes in your commute for yourself.
By commuting via bike and/or public transit, you’ll avoid traffic, get a workout in – and best of all – you won’t have to search high and low for a parking spot! You’ll also contribute to the City’s efforts for cleaner air and reduced traffic congestion in our region.
BikeCulverCity, the City of Culver City, and Culver CityBus will sponsor a pit stop to support bike commuters. Stop by the Duquesne entrance to the Ballona Creek Bike Path from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. for snacks, SWAG, information on public transit and boarding with a bike, and to check out the new bike left turn lane.
