City of Culver City Official Election Information
On July 16, 2012, the City Council, pursuant to the authority vested in the City Council by the City Charter, did call for the holding of a Special Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. At the Special Municipal Election, the City Council has submitted for the voters’ consideration Measure Y – Enactment of a Half-Cent Sales Tax (which automatically expires after 10 years).
This webpage will provide information related to the election and the various processes that culminate in the voters casting their ballots on November 6, 2012. Unlike the General Municipal Election held on April 10, 2012 which was administered by the City Clerk, this Special Municipal Election will be consolidated with the Statewide General Election (Presidential Election) and be administered by the County of Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s Office.
Please click on the links below for specific information that is currently available:
Please note: An Argument in Opposition to Measure Y was not filed.
The City Clerk’s Office welcomes your questions about the election process. Please feel free to call 310-253-5851 if you have any questions about the election. (Because this is a consolidated election, we may need to refer your call to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s Office.) And make sure to mark your calendars and vote on Tuesday, November 6, 2012!
