
Counselor in Training Program (CIT)
The C.I.T. program is designed for youth ages 15 – 16 that want to gain experience in the recreation field. Participants will shadow recreation leaders in our day camp program, receive formal training, attend field trips with the camp and can receive service learning hours. Participant must have the ability to work with younger children, exhibit leadership skills, follow directions, have good judgment, have the ability to be outdoors for long periods of time and be a good listener. . Attend mandatory staff training on Saturday, June 23 from 9AM - 1PM, daily attendance from 9AM – 6PM, submit a recommendation from their school counselor and teacher Note: There are 5 spots for the summer. Enrollment and recommendation forms must be received to be considered for a spot by May 8, 2012. Participants may be excused at any time if they are not following the C.I.T. rules and code of conduct.

Sign up at the Recreation Office located at Veterans Park, 4117 Overland Avenue.

Fees:
Residents $1140 full summer
Non-Residents $1460 full summer
The City Council sets the fees annually. Fees may be adjusted every July 1st and any increases shall be applied to all program activities regardless of when enrolled.

CIT Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm

June 25 through August 31, 2012
