Together, the County of Los Angeles and incorporated cities have developed a number of informational brochures to instruct you in methods to reduce urban runoff pollutants.  These brochures may be obtained from the City Hall 2nd floor, Engineering Division front counter.  Also, the County maintains a wonderful environmental public education homepage.

You can make a big difference to water quality in Ballona Creek and at local beaches by adopting the following best management practices (BMPs).

  • General
  • Home Maintenance
  • Lawn and Garden
  • Automotive

You can control SWURP by supporting city and county activities to keep your streets clean. You can help by participating in recycling, beach clean-ups, and the proper disposal of hazardous materials.  Share these tips with your service providers, including painters, gardeners, housekeepers, and maintenance workers.
