City of Culver City Transportation Department Named the 5th Best Fleet in North America 2009!

At the recently held Government Fleet Conference where the 100 Best Fleets in North America had their annual awards meeting, the 100 Best Fleets in North America were announced. As you know, for the past five (5) years The Equipment Maintenance & Fleet Services Division has been participating in this very important and prestigious certification program. The 100 Best Fleets program is designed specifically for Government fleets who have demonstrated high technical and professional proficiencies and outstanding business acumen in the highly regarded and dynamic profession of fleet & asset management.

There are nearly 40,000 municipal fleets in North America (including Canada). For 2009, 5000 municipal fleets participated in this certification program, which set a new record for participation. In 2008 we were identified as the 12th Best Fleet in North America with 3800 fleets participating.

This year, we competed against much larger Cities, Counties and even State fleets, like the City of Pittsburg, the State of Colorado and the City of Cincinnati to name a few. I am very excited, proud and thrilled to announce that for 2009, the City of Culver City, Equipment Maintenance & Fleet Services Division was named:

The 5th Best Fleet in North America 2009!

This is very exciting and important news as well as an extremely important testament to the good and proactive works of our Division and the people who work tirelessly to make our Division the best it can be!!
