About this volunteer opportunity:

Volunteers are needed to help sort and catalog the Museum's vast non-circulating library.  This includes rare books, photographs, music, magazines, films and more.  Although you need not be a librarian, attention to detailn and availability to take precise direction is essential.  Special event volunteers are also occasionally needed.

The Mayme A. Clayton Library & Museum's primary goal is to collect, preserve, exhibit and celebrate the unique history and cultrural heritage of Americans of African desnent and thereby to help provide a more complete view of American history. MCLM maintains the world's largestt and most academically substantial independently held collection on teh history and culture of Americans of Afrian descent.


Requirements:

Skills: Schedules are flexible. Hours of MCLM as of July 2010 are Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
