Residents can now call the Refuse and Recycling Division at (310) 253-6400, to schedule a pickup year round. Scheduling bulk item services provides convenience for residents to plan ahead for Spring and Fall cleaning and is efficient and cost effective for the Division.
Single Family Residential customers who have been issued curbside automated containers (black, green, and blue) will receive two (2) free bulky item pick-ups per calendar year. When a resident has received their two (2) free pickups during the calendar year, any additional bulk item pick-up requests will be charged the City's regular pick up fees.
Bulky item pick-ups are performed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays and require scheduling one week prior to the pickup. Three cubic yards of items are allowed per pickup. Items should be as contained as possible and stacked curbside.
Recyclable items will not be sent to a recycling facility for processing thru the bulky item pickup service. All items are sent to a landfill.
The Refuse and Recycling Division encourages residents to salvage the items before disposing of them by contacting the local Goodwill or Thrift stores. Your old furniture, toys and appliances in good condition have value! Charities and thrift stores serving the Culver City area may pick them up at no charge to you. So save your back, save yourself a bulky item pickup fee, and save landfill space by calling one of the participating organizations below:
