Ballona Creek WatershedAccording to the Climate Prediction Center of the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, there is a greater than 95 percent chance of a strong El Niño lasting through the 2015/16 winter season. The City of Culver City (City) has formed a plan that guides the community on how to prepare for the potential upcoming severe rain storms caused by the El Niño in addition to outlining the City’s strategy in response to them. To receive up to date information on El Niño caused events, sign up for the City's emergency notification system.

The City has mailed a letter addressed to hillside property owners providing them specific information on how to maintain their slope’s stability to minimize erosion that could lead to landslides and mudflows.
