General Information

On October 26, 2021, the City Manager issued the Thirty-Eighth Supplement to the Public Order(PDF, 549KB) under the City of Culver City Emergency Authority.

Beginning on November 12, 2021 businesses are required to display information about the City’s vaccination verification requirement prominently on their premises, visible to patrons prior to entrance and in any employee breakroom. View the Required Signage section below and view a (PDF, 47KB)written Vaccination Verification Protocol Template(PDF, 48KB)  template for reference.

Beginning on November 29, 2021, proof of full vaccination is required to enter covered (indoor) businesses, City facilities, and large outdoor events.

For City facilities, unvaccinated individuals will be provided alternative arrangements for access to City services, to be determined on a case-by-case basis, including online or remote services, or outdoor service.  If no alternative arrangements for the City service are available, patrons may be permitted to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within the past three days to access indoor services.

Public Health continues to require everyone to wear a well-fitting mask in indoor public settings, regardless of vaccination status.

Please note that this page will be updated with more information and resources as they become available.

Covered Locations

The requirement to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 applies to the following covered (indoor) locations.

  1. Food & Beverage Establishments;
  2. Gyms and Fitness Venues;
  3. Entertainment and Recreation Venues;
  4. Personal Care Establishments; and
  5. City Facilities.
  • Businesses are required to verify proof of vaccination for anyone 18 years of age and older indoors and cross check with a proper form of identification.
  • Unvaccinated patrons must use outdoor facilities. If no outdoor facilities are available, they can use indoor facilities with a negative COVID-19 test and while wearing a well-fitting mask.
  • Unvaccinated patrons without a negative COVID-19 test may go inside briefly to order food to-go or use the bathroom, while wearing a well-fitting mask.

Information for Employees

On-site employees are required to provide proof of vaccination to their employers.

On-site employees may be exempt from the vaccination requirements if they are declining vaccination based on a sincerely held religious belief or for qualifying medical reasons with a written statement from a physician, nurse practitioner or other licensed medical professional practicing under the license of a physician.

Approved exempt employees must (1) test for COVID-19 at least once per week with either a PCR or antigen test and (2) wear a well-fitting mask at all times while at work.
