COVID-19 Changes to Camp

Some changes have been made to our camps program during these unprecedented times to ensure our participants, parents, and staff stay safe and healthy:

  • Camp will consist of 8 to 12 children and one staff member per group, for 6 hours per day, with no interaction with other camps within the the park location.
  • It is a requirement for staff and participants to wear masks.
  • Siblings and members of the same household must register in the same Pocket Camp regardless of age. (You are able to sign your child up with siblings and/or friends by choosing the same age group and park location.)
  • Snacks and lunch will not be included and should be supplied for each child.
  • Daily check in and out will occur at a designated location and will include a temperature and wellness check.

COVID-19 Questions

Will my child be required to wear a mask?

Yes. It is a requirement that all staff and participants wear masks.

Are siblings separated because of age?

No, siblings and members of the same household must register in the same pocket camp regardless of age.

Will camp have the same counselors as previous years?

There will be many familiar faces, but there will also be a few new counselors.

What cleaning/sanitizing protocol is in place?

We have a cleaning company that cleans every morning and evening. In addition, we have dedicated staff scheduled to clean and sanitize high touch areas throughout the park.

Are the participants allowed to share equipment/supplies?

No, activities, games, and crafts are designed for social distancing.

If the COVID-19 numbers start rising will you cancel camp?

This is out of our control. If based on Los Angeles County Public Health Department regulations it is recommended to close, we will close. If that happens participants will receive refunds on a prorated basis depending on the days they attended camp.

FAQs

Do you prorate?

We only prorate for federal holidays that fall within the week camp is offered.

If I register for one week, can I put down deposits for future weeks?

No, all weeks must be paid in full.

How much outdoor activity will campers have?

Staff schedules activities to be outside 70% of the time.  This may vary depending on the weather.

Why is the Teen Center parking lot closed?

For safety of our campers. The area is used for various activities. 

How long after camps ends are Lost & Found items kept?

Lost & Found items are kept for two weeks after camp ends. The unclaimed items are then donated to the Salvation Army.

COVID-19 Policies

A mask is mandatory for all students to participate in camp.

We follow Los Angeles County social distancing policy and mask wearing guidance. 

During Covid-19 only our students are allowed to use the skate park. The park will be closed to the public. Our staff is not allowed to enforce this park rule on the public, but they can inform them and report if someone from the public is not following the park rules.

Cancellation, Refund & Make Up Policies

Refunds will only be offered when a program or activity is cancelled. A credit will be offered upon request by the customer only if either of the following requirements is satisfied: Request for credit was made before the 2nd class meeting for Recreation Classes or before the first meeting of all other programs and activities, unless otherwise noted. Refunds will be issued in the form of a check and may take 4-6 weeks to process.

 

Refund requests will only granted before the 2nd class meeting for Enrichment Classes or before the first meeting of all other programs and activities. Refunds will not be given for missed classes nor may classes be made up due to participant illness or absence. A $25 Refund Processing Fee will be charged on all refunds. Refund checks take 45 days to process.
