Senior Center Art Show
This week the Senior Center is hosting its free biannual Senior Center Art Exhibit in the lobby of the Center. The exhibit features work by about 40 talented Senior Center members. The art will be on display through Thursday, December 7th at noon. The Culver City Senior Center offers many weekly art classes including watercolor, pastels, ceramics, and two art workshops that welcome artists using many different art mediums.
Since moving to the new Senior Center in March of 2003, the Center holds two art shows per year. One is in May celebrating “Older Americans Month” and the second is typically held in the fall/winter months. The Senior Center art class instructors encourage all students who wish to participate in the show regardless of ‘expertise’ to submit a piece for display.
Please note if you’re coming to visit the Art Show that parking at the Culver City Senior Center is permitted. To avoid risking a ticket, please park in the Veterans Memorial Building parking lot and walk across Culver Blvd. The show is in the lobby just off the corner of Culver and Overland Avenues.
Membership to the Culver City Senior Citizens Association, a non-profit organization, is open to individuals 50 years of age and over and is free for those 90 years or older. Membership is required to participate in most Senior Center activities such as art classes. Sign up at the Welcome Desk at the Senior Center. The annual fee for is $15.00 and is based on the calendar year (January through December). Please see our Monthly Newsletter for ongoing classes, seminars, presentations & events.
