How We Move
In preparation for our table at the Art Walk & Roll Festival earlier this month, the Advance Planning team reached out to CCUSD students and asked them to show us how they move through the city. The colorful drawings they returned to us illustrate both the current reality of how we use our streets and an aspiration for a multi-modal transportation network. This vision for Culver City, as expressed by its youngest citizens, will be a source of inspiration as we address issues of mobility with the General Plan Update. Many thanks to Susana Fattorini, CCUSD Visual Art teacher, and the staff of the Culver City Afterschool Recreation Program for helping to coordinate this!
We encourage you to come see the students' work, which will be displayed at our next GPU prelude event, How we move, on November 7, 2018 from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Veterans Memorial Building Garden Room. This is our third of five events scheduled in advance of the General Plan Update project launch. For this evening, we will be welcoming Craig Hodgetts, co-founder of local design studio Hodgetts + Fung, to explore the intriguing ways we exist in and move through urban space.
Complementary on-site child care and Spanish interpretation assistance can be arranged in advance. RSVP and confirm services needed for this event.
