What is a Turf Consultant's Report & Why is It Important?
Could more intensive field maintenance practices support a broader range of field activities? What types of grasses comprise our fields now and would other types be hardier and less costly to maintain? Are we optimizing our field maintenance hours in the parks? Would purchasing new equipment or contracting services save money in the long run and improve the turf? The Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Department, with the support of the PRCS Commission, engaged the services of PRZ Sports Turf Consulting to assess park fields in Culver City and provide recommendations regarding questions such as these.
If you are interested in knowing more and/or would like to contribute to the discussion, please join the PRCS Commission at the November 5th meeting to review the “Turf Consultant’s Report on Park Fields in Culver City.” A workshop format will be utilized to encourage public participation. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM in the Mike Balkman Council Chambers at City Hall, 9770 Culver Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232. The Meeting Agenda and related items are currently available.
Printed copies of the Report are available during regular Office hours at the Recreation Registration Office, Veterans Memorial Building, 4117 Overland Ave., Culver City, CA 90230. If you would like to make comments regarding the Report but will not be at the meeting, please email your comments to the PRCS Department's general email address at PRCS.Department@CulverCity.org before 4:30 PM on the day of the meeting.
