Class 1 Rating Awarded to the Culver City Fire Department
The Insurance Services Office (ISO) again awarded the Culver City Fire Department with a Class 1 Public Protection Classification rating. The Class 1 designation is the highest possible rating given to any fire department in the United States. Out of 43,000 agencies reviewed by ISO, Culver City Fire Department ranks within the top 1% of fire departments in America, and has maintained this distinction continuously since 1995.
ISO evaluates four primary categories of fire suppression—fire department, emergency communications, water supply, and community risk reduction. The Culver City Fire Department extends a very special thanks to its outstanding partners—the Golden State Water Company, the South Bay Regional Public Communications Authority, and the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power.
ISO is a nationwide rating service used by insurance companies to help establish insurance rates for local business and residential properties. As fire insurance premiums are based on the quality of service and fire protection available, Culver City’s Class 1 rating means that Culver City homeowners and businesses have the potential to get the lowest possible fire insurance premiums around.
