Culver City's Winter Holiday Events

downtown holiday tree lighting 2.jpegStarting this month, the City of Culver City will host or support a series of local winter/holiday events and volunteering and donation opportunities. Mark your calendars, the festivities’ details are in!

Downtown Holiday Tree Lighting (RESCHEDULED)

Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.

[RESCHEDULED DUE TO RAIN ON DECEMBER 6] Celebrate peace, good will and the holiday season at this annual Downtown Culver City event. See Santa Claus as he makes a very special visit, all the way from the North Pole! Downtown Culver City businesses provide the hot cider, hot cocoa, cookies and other festive treats that are sure to make everyone feel merry. Stay afterwards for dinner at one of Downtown Culver City’s many restaurants, or take a stroll down the boulevards. Culver City’s downtown area is Southern California’s best kept secret, featuring a wonderful mix of historic buildings, boutiques, theaters, galleries, and unique restaurants opening on to tree-lined streets.  This event is free to the public.

Tower Lighting Ceremony

Friday, December 7, 2018 from 6:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m.

Veterans Park, 4117 Overland Avenue, Culver City, CA 90230, next to the film strip fountain.  The event is open to the public, free of charge.

Join Santa for this fun, FREE annual event! Watch from below as the “tree” surrounding Vets Tower is illuminated.  We’ll have sledding & snowman building, food trucks and crafts & games. After illuminating the tree, Santa will arrive on a fire truck.  Photo opportunities with Santa will be available! Call (310) 253-6655 for more information.

Senior Center Holiday Party

Must be a Culver City Senior Citizens Association (CCSCA) member to attend and purchase tickets.; Tickets are $4.00, on sale in November 26 until Dec 11 or until sold out. Call (310) 253-6700 for more information.

Culver City seniors are welcome to partake in this annual celebration with lunch and live entertainment.

Culver City Fire Department Spark of Love Toy Drive - Now through December 24, 2018

Spark of Love Toy Drive

The Culver City Fire Department is collecting toys at all three fire stations support of the Spark of Love Toy Drive. As part of the greater Southern California campaign, the Culver City Fire Department is collecting new, unwrapped toys and sports equipment for underserved children and teens in and around Culver City. Feel free to donate toys and sports items at any of our three fire stations:


  • Station 1 – 9600 Culver Boulevard
  • Station 2 – 11252 Washington Boulevard
  • Station 3 – 6030 Bristol Parkway

Volunteers will sing seasonal songs and yuletide carols, shake sleigh bells and interact with our senior community! No singing skills required! Please wear seasonal clothing! Volunteer your voice at one of OIF Annual Christmas Caroling Events:

Exceptional Children’s Foundation Annual Food and Toy Drive

Exceptional Children’s Foundation serves children and adults with special needs, many of whom live in low-income households. Help them brighten their holidays by collecting food for Thanksgiving or Christmas or by collecting new, unwrapped toys or other gift items.
