City Now Seeking a Coordinator for New Artist Laureate Program

Dr. Janet Hoult Teaching PoetryThe City of Culver City is seeking a COORDINATOR to implement an Artist Laureate Program.  Desirable qualifications include prior related experience and knowledge of Culver City’s artistic and creative community.  This part-time contract position has flexible hours.  The total coordinator fee available is $9,600 ($20 - $30 per hour) over a two year period, with the most intensive work period extending through the remainder of 2019 (when the new Artist Laureate is appointed). 

Coordinator responsibilities include:

  • Uploading the Artist Laureate Program guidelines and application to an on-line platform;

  • Public outreach and marketing;

  • Coordinating artist application process;

  • Preparing artist application materials for review panelists and Cultural Affairs Commission Subcommittee;

  • Identifying review panelists, convening review panel with the Cultural Affairs Commission Subcommittee;

  • Presenting review panel recommendations to the Cultural Affairs Commission and City Council; and

  • Coordinating with Artist Laureate and other applicable entities to ensure program goals are met, and to fulfill reporting requirements.

  • Total fee for two years broken down by hourly rate and estimated number of hours required.
