Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteer office has information on more than 80 sites looking for volunteers. We are happy to help all community members in their efforts to find the perfect opportunity to give back. Please stop by our office at the Culver City Senior Center on Tuesday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or contact Volunteer Specialist Jill Thomsen at 310.253.6722 or via email.

Upward Bound House

Services Provided:  Upward Bound House is a community-based, social service agency. It was founded in 1991 to help mitigate the affordable housing crisis on the West-side of Los Angeles County and specifically, its impact on two vulnerable populations: homeless families with minor children and very low-income seniors.  We provide supportive services and housing to those in need which will allow each resident to lead an enriched, empowered and independent life.

Volunteer Positions: Food service, set-up, serving dinner to the families and clean-up afterwards – weekdays from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Volunteers can also work a shift (4:30-6 or 6-7:30).

Notes: A volunteer opportunities packet and application are located on their website under the “Volunteer” tab on the left side of the homepage. Volunteers must be of college age and attend a training held in Santa Monica.
