Culver City prides itself on its authentic “small town” feel with unique restaurants, services and specialty retailers.  As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact our small business, it is important to think local first and #ChooseCulverCity when shopping, dining, or requiring services.  Buying local maintains our community character, supports our local economy and continues to ensure quality of life that makes Culver City an exceptional place to live, work and enjoy.

The Culver City community has a long history of supporting small and family owned businesses.  As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to redefine our “new normal” and more businesses reopen – now is the time to support local businesses and ensure their survival and success.  Not comfortable going into a store or dining in?  No problem!  Many of our businesses offer online shopping, shipping, home delivery and curbside pickup! Just ask!

Local business owners care about Culver City and their customers.  Supporting our local businesses maintains a sense of community, provide jobs and supports a wide range of other local businesses too. When you choose a Culver City business, you are supporting our local economy.   Taxable dollars spent in Culver City help benefit important City-provided services like public safety, senior services, after-school programs, street maintenance, streetlights and parks.

Shopping small is fun and fulfilling!   Whether in Downtown, West Washington, Culver City Arts District, Westfield Culver City, or along any of our commercial corridors, our one-of-a-kind businesses are an integral part of our distinctive character and provide you with personal service.

Going out to dinner? Need something for the house?  Purchasing a gift for a special person?  Sending flowers?  Choose Culver City!  We have hundreds of small businesses that provide personal and exceptional products and services.

When you choose Culver City, you choose community.

Help us spread the word!

We need the community’s help to promote this program and support our businesses!  Let us know if you are willing to help by:

  • Posting a lawn sign (City will provide)
  • Hanging a window poster (limited quantities and downloadable)
  • Wearing a “Love Local Buy Local” pin when out and about (City or businesses will provide)
  • Sharing why you buy local (and how!) on your social media!

We have a limited selection of collateral materials available on a first come, first served basis. Please email Elaine Warner to become a “buy local ambassador” and help us spread the word!

Business Resources

We need help promoting on social media and in stores, restaurants and other locations throughout the community to make this program as successful as possible!

Social Media

One of the most cost effective, and far reaching ways to help boost this program, is through social media.  The City will be launching its own campaign, but we need our business community to boost its reach by posting images, videos, stories of why and how buying locally helps your businesses.  We have assembled an initial toolkit for your use with collateral and downloadable materials.

The primary hashtag for the program is : #chooseculvercity.  Please use this hashtag whenever posting about your business or the buy local program

Collateral Materials

To our support our businesses, the City has created a limited selection of collateral materials available to promote the Choose Culver City buy local campaign.  Please indicate which items and preferred quantities you would like sent or delivered to your businesses:

  • Window Clings (6” diameter)
  • “Love Local Buy Local” employee pins
  • “Love Local Shop Local” or “Love Local Dine Local” customer support stickers

 

Downloadable Logos and Posters

The City has also created a posters and logos that can be downloaded, printed and/or incorporated in your social media and business promotions.
