The MOVE Culver City team has released Version 2.0 of the Design Plans, with more information included on the MOVE Culver City Website. These design plans reflect changes under consideration for the first phase of the project that include changing the traffic lanes between the Culver City E-Line (Expo) Station and Downtown Culver City to the west and La Cienega Avenue to the east. Please review these designs and let us know if you have any questions and/or suggestions. The comment period will be open until January 1, 2021.

Project Background

MOVE Culver City is implementation of the vision set forth in the City’s Transit Oriented Design (TOD) Visioning Plan (adopted in 2017) and the Bicycle and Pedestrian Action Plan to implement holistic transportation options for pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders. To do this, the Culver City Transportation Department is looking to implement three Tactical Mobility Lane Pilot Projects through the quick-build process in three corridors. The project envisions a reimagining of our streets as public spaces and prioritizes moving people over cars in the design of the street. It is anticipated that bus riders, cyclists, and emergency vehicles will all benefit from a more efficient and greater ease of travel, with the reliability of sustainable connections to key destinations and regional transit connections.

The first phase of the project will start on Culver and Washington boulevards – the Downtown corridor, connecting Culver City Downtown, Metro E Line Station and Arts District. The project will also include the reimagining of the E-Line Culver City Station entrance and a Circulator service in the Downtown corridor.
