Untitled was the first of Eric Owen Mosses' designs that was approved by the City under the designation "Architecture as Art." The 1997 structure incorporates framework, trusses, and brick walls of the circa 1940-era industrial structures that once stood upon this site. By integrating the existing (and older) building components into a contemporary design, Moss intended to create a new context for the original elements.
Eric Owen Moss is a Culver City based architect known for his conceptually challenging designs. Several of Mr. Mosses' buildings (or portions thereof), are designated under Culver City's Architecture as Art program. These include: Umbrella (1999), Beehive (1998), and What Wall (1998).
