Sign Permit Application

Step 1. Gather your information

• Property Address
• Elevations, showing sign materials, the building and exact location of sign(s) (proposed and existing); dimensions, including distance from the top of the sign to the roof-line of the building and bottom of the sign to the top of the window or canopy; distance from vertical & horizontal edges; materials, illumination, color, and finishes; building/tenant space frontage (in feet); and background area (in square feet), and architectural features. If a flag, freestanding, or monument sign, show maximum height, sign thickness, and sign dimensions.
• If applicable, Drawn Sections.
• Site Plan, which includes property lines, adjacent streets, and exact location of the sign(s).
• Photo Simulation of the proposed signage, if available.
• If other than the owner, applicant will need to provide a property owner authorization letter.
• Additional information/materials may be required based on type of sign(s)/ circumstances.

• In addition to the above, please review Building Safety's Minimum Signage Requirements and be sure to include the additional information requested. 

Step 2.Apply Online

Fill out the online Sign Permit Application.

Step 3.Submit Payment

After you submit your application, usually within 1-2 business days,  you will receive an email with a link to pay for your application.

Step 4.We'll Respond via Email

Once payment is received, the Current Planning Division, will review your application which will take 2-4 weeks to process. Once approved, the assigned Planner will reach out with further instructions.

Step 2.Fill in the Sign Permit Application form

Step 3.Bring documents to Current Planning 

Submit your Sign Permit application with above documents, and payment to the Planner on Duty.

The Planner will review your application, which will take 2-4 weeks to process. Once approved, you will be contacted with further instructions.
