Culver City residents are invited to participate in the world’s largest volunteer day to protect our oceans and local waterways, Coastal Cleanup Day, from 9 AM to Noon on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
Culver City residents can register on the official Eventbrite page to become a volunteer or visit the the sites listed below. Waivers will be available at each site. For participants under the age of 18, parental consent is required.
Culver City along with thousands of other communities around the world will reduce pollution by sprucing up their local waterways, beaches and neighborhood parks. In Los Angeles County alone, there will be more than 70 cleanup sites, four of which will be along the Ballona Creek Bike Path at the following locations:
All cleanup locations will have cleaning supplies, though volunteers are encouraged to bring their own buckets, gloves and refillable water bottles to help reduce waste. To prepare, volunteers can check out the various types of trash they may find on their Coastal Cleanup Day excursions.
