Update on the Culver City After School Recreation Program (CCARP) and Camps

The Parks, Recreation & Community Services (PRCS) Department hopes you and loved ones are safe and well. We’re all facing uncertainty these days, but we look forward to having you and your children back with us soon!  Currently there is no timeline in place for the City to reopen PRCS facilities and programs—although we are optimistically looking at dates between June 15th and July 6th. We’ll do our best to accommodate Summer Camps/CCARP while also staying in compliance with mandates issued by governmental authorities related to COVID-19. When we open for summer, activities will likely not be presented in the traditional format. Keep in mind that programs may be adapted for the times, which may mean smaller enrollments, masks for participants, hand-washing/sanitizing protocols, eliminating usage of shared materials, social distancing and/or other adjustments that make sense for the safety of participants and staff.

Frequently Asked Questions:

When does registration begin for CCARP 20/21?

Currently registration for these programs is suspended.  We will send out an email and post to the PRCS website when new registration dates become available. We will continue to have priority registration for returning families followed by Culver City residents.

I already registered for the first week of Just 4 Kids Jr./Just 4 Kids/Teen/Specialty Camp, will that be starting on time?

Currently we are waiting for another update in mid-May that will give the PRCS Department a clearer vision of timeframe for reopening. If we cannot open camps at the beginning of the scheduled program, credits and refunds will be available to those who registered. We will send out an email and post to the PRCS website with any updates.

Will the Just 4 Kids Jr./Just 4 Kids/Teen/Specialty Camps still be going on excursions?

At this time, we cannot answer that question. We are waiting for another update mid-May that may address this question. If excursions are eliminated staff will plan a weekly party or special event for campers to enjoy.

I have already received a refund as a credit to my account. Is it possible to get that refund as a check payment sent to me?

Yes. The processing time is longer than usual due to these unprecedented circumstances and will take between 6-8 weeks to receive your check. Please email your request.

Thank you for your continued understanding as we navigate these times together.  Please know that one thing is certain:  Culver City Parks, Recreation and Community Services understands the need for services and will be back to running programs as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.  In the meantime we wish you the best and appreciate your patience!  Download a copy of this update.
