Services Provided:   
The Senior Volunteer Program provides senior adults the opportunity to volunteer their time to assist CHP employees in the performance of their duties.

Volunteer positions: 
Deploy the radar trailer; work with local schools; assist the front desk officer in serving the public; help with administrative duties, go on ride-a-longs.

Requirements: 
NO felony convictions; be able to work during regular CHP office hours.  Each local CHP office recruits their own SVPs.  There is a downloadable application that one can take to their local CHP office to start the process to becoming a Senior Volunteer.  Be 55 years or older, can work a minimum of 4 hours per week, pass a background check, have a good driving record, and complete the CHP Senior Volunteer Training Program.
