Winter Pocket Camp- Pocket Camp is BACK!

Let your kids take a break from screens! Located at Veterans Memorial Building.

Dates: December 21-24 & 28-31

Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm

Cost: $80 per week

Age Range:1st-6th graders

COVID-19 Changes to Camp 

Some changes have been made to our camps program during these unprecedented times to ensure our participants, parents, and staff stay safe and healthy:

  • Camp will consist of 8 to 12 children and one staff member per room, for 6 hours per day, with no interaction with other camps within the facility.
  • It is a requirement for staff and participants to wear masks.
  • Siblings and members of the same household must register in the same Pocket Camp regardless of age. (You are able to sign your child up with siblings and/or friends by choosing the same age group and room color.)
  • Snacks and lunch will not be included and should be supplied for each child.
  • Daily check in and out will occur at the grass field by the horseshoe parking lot and will include a temperature and wellness check.

How to Register

All registration happens online.  Please visit ActiveNet to enroll in the Camp.  All camp weeks must be paid in full, no deposits will be allowed. No refunds will be allowed unless camp is cancelled by the PRCS Department. Please remember that space will be very limited both in physical area and in participant numbers.

Pocket Camps (Summer, Winter, Spring)

Culver City PRCS Dept. Spring Day Camp is offered during the CCUSD recess. It's a fun-filled program filled with engaging activities for 1st- 5th graders. Participants will enjoy sports, games, arts & crafts, special events, themed days, and much more!

Here’s the Pocket Camp basics: 

  • Camp begins July 6, 2020. 
  • There will be two age groups
    Junior: Ages 5 (must have completed Kindergarten) - 8
    Senior: Ages 9 - 11
  • Registration is online only.
  • Registration for Residents: Check back for information
  • Registration for Non-Residents (space permitting): Check back for information
  • Camps will have one of two time slots:  8:30 AM - 2:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Special Interest Summer Camp

Summer 2021 information will be available in Spring 2021.

Teen Camp

Teen Camp is a stimulating, power-packed program filled with engaging activities for children ages 10 - 13 and must be 6th- 8th grade only. Sports, games, arts & crafts, special events, themed days, and much more! Teen Camp is offered during the CCUSD recess. 

Virtual Activities

Sign-up your kids now for one of Culver City's Virtual Summer Programs! Options include:

• "Virtual Choice" ($45, registration ongoing): Campers will have access to the private page of pre-recorded videos with step by step instructions to a wide variety of popular camp activities led by our talented camp staff. A camp kit including craft supplies, and an activity book will be included and available for pick-up.

• "Virtual Camp" program ($90/week, registration begins June 13th): Campers will have a week of daily 75 minute live videos calls with other campers and their counselor plus access to a private page of pre-recorded videos. The video calls allow for campers to interact with each other and counselors through fun games, crafts and activities. A camp kit including camp shirt, craft supplies, and an activity book will be included and will be available for pick-up

 

Payments

How do I register?

Currently registration is online only.  Please visit ActiveNet to enroll in the Camp.  

 

Do you prorate?

We only prorate for federal holidays that fall within the week camp is offered.

If I register for one week, can I put down deposits for future weeks?

No, all weeks must be paid in full.

What is the latest day I can pay for camp?

The Tuesday prior to the week of camp unless there are open spots available the week of camp.  Check with the Registration Office for availability.  

How much should I give my child for field trips?

Staff recommends no more than $20 and no less than $5. 

 

COVID-19 Questions 

Will my child be required to wear a mask?

Yes. It is a requirement that all staff and participants wear masks.

Are siblings separated because of age?

No, siblings and members of the same household must register in the same pocket camp regardless of age.

Will camp have the same counselors as previous years?

There will be many familiar faces, but there will also be a few new counselors. 

What cleaning/ sanitizing protocol do you have in place?

We have a cleaning company that cleans every morning and evening. In addition, we have dedicated staff scheduled to clean and sanitize high touch areas (i.e. door knobs, chairs, tables, restrooms, etc.) throughout the facility.

Are the participants allowed to share equipment/supplies?

No, activities, games, and crafts are designed for social distancing.

If the numbers of COVID-19 keep rising will you cancel camp?

This is out of our control. If based on Los Angeles County Public Health Department regulations it is recommended to close, we will close. If that happens participants will receive refunds on a prorated basis depending on the days they attended camp.

 

Additional FAQs

How much outdoor activity will they have?

Staff schedules activities to be outside 70% of the time.  This may vary depending on the weather.

Why is the Teen Center parking lot closed?

For safety of our campers. The area is used for various activities. 

How long after camp ends are lost and found items kept?

Lost & Found items are kept for two weeks after camp ends. The unclaimed items are then donated to the Salvation Army.
