Annual Budget

Every year, the City Council adopts the annual budget for the City allocating resources to fund public services, City programs, and capital projects. The City's fiscal year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30. Per Section 801 of the City Charter, the proposed budget must be submitted to the City Council no later than 45 days prior to the end of the fiscal year.

Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2024-2025

In accordance with the City Charter, the City Council and Boards for the Successor Agency, Housing Authority and Parking Authority were provided with the City Manager's/Executive Director's Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 at the May 13, 2024 Regular City Council Meeting. Staff will give a presentation and provide financial highlights for the Proposed Budget at a Special Meeting on Monday, May 20th and Tuesday, May 21st starting at 3:00 pm.

Adopted Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024

The Adopted City Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024(PDF, 33MB) is $345 million. It was adopted by the City Council on June 12, 2023.

The Adopted Budget includes funding for capital projects approved for Fiscal Year 2023-2024. Additional project details are available in the City's Five Year Capital Improvement Plan for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 through Fiscal Year 2027-2028(PDF, 7MB)

Adopted General Fund Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024

The Total General Fund Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 is $177 million.

Amending the Adopted Budget

The budget may only be amended or supplemented by a 4/5 vote of the City Council.
