Citywide Parks Plan

In 2024, Culver City Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) began the development of a new Parks Plan which examines the current and future needs of the city's recreational infrastructure, considering varied perceptions and uses of park space. The purpose of the Culver City Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration and Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee is to advise and make recommendations to the City Council and the Director of PRCS policies and issues related to the City’s annual events.

Temporary Closure Announcements

Temporary Closures:

Our parks, park amenities and facilities may at times not be available for public use. Weather conditions, scheduled programs and/or maintenance may cause closures. Information on temporary closures will be posted on PRCS Facebook and Instagram.

El Marino Park Ages 2-5 Playground

The playground will be closed to the public beginning Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in order to begin the playground rehabilitation project. For more information, visit El Marino Playground Project.

PRCS Holiday Hours

PRCS Holiday Closure Dates (no rentals of any kind and no open buildings):*

Thanksgiving Day
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas Day**

*Parks & Park Restrooms will be open. PRCS staff unlocks, cleans & stocks all outdoor restrooms on these days.

**Facilities will be closed by no later than 6:00 pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

The Municipal Plunge will be open from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm only on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

No field, park or picnic reservations (public use is first come, first served only). This applies to the holidays listed above but also these high use days:

Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director Ted Stevens

Ted Stevens comes to Culver City with extensive experience in local government. His experience includes overseeing Citywide programs, such as Adult and Youth Sports, Beach and Sports Fields Permits, Adaptive Recreation programs, three municipal swimming pools, three community centers and one regional community center.

Vets Park and Bill Botts Fields Feasibility Study

The Bill Botts Fields and Veterans Memorial Park Feasibility Study is a comprehensive visioning project to determine how these two parks will accommodate the community’s 21st century needs for indoor and outdoor recreational, community meeting, event and cultural facilities. The study will take an extensive look at the parks and facilities located at each site. The study took place from Fall 2023 to Spring 2024.
