Bromeliad Society of La Ballona Valley's April Meeting

Plant

The Bromeliad Society of La Ballona Valley rescheduled our first live speaker in three years, John Martinez, from our rained-out March meeting to this month's meeting. We will also go over how to get ready for our Show and Sale next month.

About our speaker: John is a retired LAFD Battalion Chief who has extensive experience with xeric plants: In addition to being a member of several local garden clubs, he is a co-founder of the Conejo Cactus and Succulent Society (Thousand Oaks) and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Cactus and Succulent Society of America. His topic is "Dyckia and Their Allies, Those Other Succulents".

About preparing for our Show and Sale: We will have a demonstration of getting your plants ready to enter in our Show, and how to fill out your entry list and entry tags. There will also be information for those interested in selling plants at our Sale, as well as sign-ups for volunteers and show flyers to share with your communities.

The Bromeliad Society of La Ballona Valley is one of the oldest bromeliad clubs in the world. We meet the second Tuesday of each month from January through October in the Multipurpose Room of the Veterans Memorial Building in Culver City.

Visitors are always welcome!
