Culver City Public Theatre presents "The Front Page"

Two Actors on stage

Written by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur

Adapted and Directed by Trace Oakley

"The Front Page" is a classic comedy that was the basis for the hit film, HIS GIRL FRIDAY.

“The Front Page” follows Hildy Johnson, ace reporter for the Chicago Examiner, as she tries to bolt the manic world of journalism and corrupt Chicago politics, to lead a normal married life. Her ex-husband and editor, Walter Burns has other ideas, and when a convicted murderer escapes and hides in the press room, Hildy cannot escape the lure of the newspaper biz. The laughs and twists come at a breakneck pace in this timeless classic.

The show is adapted and directed by Culver City Public Theatre (CCPT) president Trace Oakley. The cast includes CCPT regulars Danielle Fraser, Rizzy Fuentes, Tamara Koltes, Steven Milner and Eric Billitzer. Eric been a member of the company since its inception in 1998. Also starring are Alicia Sterling Beach, Ted Burke, Phoenix Ever, Rory McLaverty, Lynda Palmer, Darryl Maximilian Robinson, Philip Rossi, Roderick Walker, Tae Ho Yoon and Tanya Laine as Hildy.
Sophia April Grose returns as costume designer.

Run time is roughly two hours, which includes one intermission. CCPT is presenting two shows back-to-back this summer. “The Front Page” is preceded at 12 noon, by the all-ages adventure musical, “Gideon and the Blundersnorp.”

All shows are free-of-charge, no reservations necessary. Open seating.
