The Public Works Department will hold a Community Meeting regarding the Overland Bike Lane Project.

Overland Bike Lane Project Details 

The Public Works Department Mobility & Traffic Engineering Division is proposing to make multiple improvements along Overland Ave (Project). The Project is currently in the conceptual design phase. Improvements will include:

  • Design and installation of bicycle lanes along Overland Ave between Venice Blvd and the Culver City Transit Center. Planned improvements are in accordance with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Action Plan and include pedestrian enhancements, such as ADA-compliant curb ramps, crosswalk markings, a new mid-block traffic signal at Julian Dixon Library, street furniture, and street trees.
    • Class IV protected bicycle lanes (1.53 route-miles)
    • Class II bicycle lanes (0.43 route-miles)
    • Class III bicycle route (0.21 route-miles)
  • Design and installation of High Friction Surface Treatment (HFST) pavement on a curved segment of Overland Ave between Maytime Ln and Northgate St to address recent vehicle crashes.

Community Meeting Details

At this community meeting, Public Works Mobility and Traffic Engineering staff will present Project details, provide updates, and answer questions. Neighborhood residents and businesses are encouraged to join the meeting and provide feedback. Staff presentation will include:

  • Project status and schedule
  • Presentation of conceptual design for planned improvements
  • Presentation and discussion of bikeway design options

In-person meeting. Face masks are recommended but not required.Learn about the Coronavirus and the City's response, recommendations, and requirements.
