Community Meeting: Complete Streets Design Guidelines

The public is invited to a community meeting to learn about the Complete Streets Design Guidelines the City of Culver City is developing to ensure that future investment within the City’s public right-of-way is safe, sustainable, universally accessible, and regionally competitive.

Visit booths to learn about the various components of Complete Streets.
Build your own Complete Street during an interactive exercise!

At this open-house style meeting, members of the public will be able circulate among several booths that explain the various components that make a street “complete,” including elements like sidewalk design, urban forestry, lighting, and bicycle, transit, and pedestrian facilities.

An interactive exercise will also be provided where attendees can build their own Complete Street. This is great opportunity for both kids and adults to share their vision of streets in Culver City.

Public Works Mobility and Traffic Engineering staff and consultants will be available to answer questions and collect feedback.

About Complete Streets

Complete Streets is an approach to planning, designing, and constructing streets that enables safe access for all users, regardless of age or ability. Complete Streets emphasizes the needs of users that have experienced under investment in roadway infrastructure, such as the disabled, elderly, and those without access to a personal vehicle.

The Public Works Department Mobility & Traffic Engineering Division is creating Complete Streets Design Guidelines (Guidelines) to ensure that future investment within the City’s public right-of-way is safe, sustainable, and universally accessible. The Guidelines will be driven by the City’s 2020 Complete Streets Policy and will consolidate best practices, design standards, and findings from various City plans and policies, including the 2020 Bicycle and Pedestrian Action Plan, the 2021 Local Road Safety Plan, and the General Plan 2045.
