PLEASE NOTE: The Plunge will be closed on Monday, September 6 and Friday, Saturday and Sunday- October 29, 30, and 31 for Fiesta.

Course Hours and Times

Adult Exercise

Low-impact water exercise in shallow water; ideal for all fitness levels, including non-swimmers, and anyone recovering from injuries. The class will be offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00-9:45am.  Participation is limited so students must pre-register.

AquaFit Shallow Water

AquaFit Shallow Water Aerobics is great for all fitness levels including the non-swimmer.  This low impact class is a way to tone your body, improve your cardiovascular endurance, and lose a few inches around your waist. It’s a safe exercise for pre and post natal women, and those who are recovering from minor injuries. Pre Registration REQUIRED.

AquaFit Deep Water

If you are an above average exerciser, AquaFit DEEP WATER AEROBICS is the perfect workout for you.  Buoyancy belts are provided for each client.  They give you support while moving freely in the water. Hand buoys, and noodles are some of the equipment items used to create a well balanced body exercise. Pre Registration REQUIRED.

AquaFit Stand Up

AQUAFit STAND UP is the best total body workout on an inflatable stand up paddle board.  These fun and safe exercises are designed to improve balance, stabilize the core muscle groups, and increase cardiovascular endurance. The bonus, it’s possible to burn up to 650 calories in the 45 minute workout. Pre Registration REQUIRED.

How to Set up an ActiveNet Account

  1. Click here to set up an account.
  2. Click on the "create account" link in the upper right corner
  3. Enter your email address in the box
  4. Click on the green box that says "Next"
  5. Enter your First name, last name , date of birth, create a password and confirm your password
  6. Check the two boxes
  7. Click on the green box that says "Next".
  8. Enter your gender, address and phone number
  9. Create your security question, fill in your answer and then confirm your answer
  10. Check the I’m not a robot box.
  11. Click on the green box that says "Submit" and you are ready to go


How to Register for an Activity 

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click on the "Activities" Link- the second word on the gray bar below the green logo/picture.
  3. Enter "Adult-for adult exercise or Aqua-for aquafit" in the activity box. All the open Activities will pop up by date. (The number under the third column labeled open will show you how many spaces are open that day.)
  4. Select the day and time you would like to swim by clicking the green button on the right that says "add to cart". (Note: If the button to the right of the time you would like is blue and says "Wishlist" it means that the registration for that date has not begun or that the class may be full. You may add it to your "wishlist" to speed up the registration process when the activity does open. Check above for registration dates)

Please be mindful of your fellow program participants and ensure that if you can not make your class that you call either (310) 253-6650 or (310) 253-6680 to cancel your reservation by 6:00pm the evening preceding your class. This way staff can open up the space on line for other participants to register on a first come first served basis.

Standby Procedures

In response to the overwhelming number of "No Shows" the City will implement a standby process to fill any empty spaces.  The City’s Standby Registration process will be on a first come first served basis.  We ask that you please carefully review the City’s guidelines below:

  • Upon arrival stand by participants must approach the Plunge business desk to request a ticket.
  • At 15 minutes to the hour participants will be checked in on the standby list. Participants with tickets will be checked in first and those without tickets will be checked in on a first come first served basis after all tickets have been collected.   
  • At 10 minutes past the hour,  if space is available, City staff will call standby participants in the order they appear on the list for the class.  
  • Standby participants that accept the space will be registered by City staff for the Adult exercise/AquaFit Class. 
  • Standby participants must then log into their ActiveNet account via phone or tablet and pay the balance immediately or pay the balance at the business desk prior to being allowed on deck.


    COVID-19 Procedures and Protocols 

    Check in and Class Staging (NEW)

    • Check in will begin outside the plunge at 15 minutes to the hour.   
    • If spaces remain empty at 10 minutes after the hour they will be allocated to Standby Participants on a first come first served basis according to the Standby Procedures.   
    • Participants must check in at the check in table.  
    • At 5 minutes to the hour staff will make any needed announcements.   
    • Once lifeguarding staff is ready participants will be let in to the facility to choose their space. 
    • Crates will be available for personal belonging storage on deck on a first come first served basis.
    • Locker rooms will be open beginning July 6.
    • Spaces are chosen on a first come first served basis.
    • All participants must shower at the outdoor showers before entering the pool.
    • There will be a 5-minute warning (3 short whistle blasts) 5 minutes prior to the end of the exercise session.   
    • Participants must exit the facility (including the locker rooms) through the south west gate by the top of the hour.


    Adult Exercise and AquaFit Guidelines (NEW)

    For the safety of all participants and to ensure the maximum enjoyment, fulfillment and participation levels for all involved the following guidelines will be enforced.

    • There is no outside equipment allowed in the class without prior instructor approval.
    • All participants are to follow the coached workout. If accommodations are needed, please consult with instructor prior to class to discuss the best possible way if possible to achieve them.
    • Talking is to be kept at a minimum. 
    • Only preregistered participants are permitted to enter the facility.
    • Spectators, guests or visitors are not permitted.  
    • Indoor showers, lockers, locker rooms and changing areas are available for use beginning July 6.
    • Items left in the facility after a swim/exercise/lesson session will be placed in the lost and found.
    • Items not claimed by the 5th of the month will be disposed of.
    • Water fountains are available.
    • The Plunge is a Bully Free facility. Bullying will not be tolerated and may be cause for removal from the facility without refund.
    • Patrons must exit the facility by the top of the hour.

    Should a participant not abide by the above, the instructor and the City of Culver City reserves the right to ask the participant to leave the class.
