Pool Rules

Pool rules are designed for the safety of everyone. The City of Culver City reserves the right to amend these rules for the safety of its participants. The City of Culver City also reserves the right to refuse service to any participant who violates any of these rules or direction from Aquatics Staff. Staff should direct any concerns or problems to the Pool Manager or Aquatic Coordinator immediately. 

COVID-19 General Facility Rules

  • All persons entering pool complex are required to pre-register for their swim session.
  • No spectators permitted
  • Participants must wear a mask at all times when not in the water or shower.
  • Social Distancing of six (6) feet must be observed at all times while in the facility.
  • Water fountains are for water bottle refills only.
  • No person shall enter the pool without a lifeguard in tower.
  • Masks must be worn in the locker room at all times when not actively showering.
  • A complete head and body shower must be taken in the newly added outdoor shower before entering the pool.
  • There are 3 participants permitted per lane during lap swim
  • There are 4 participants permitted per 1/2 lane during family swim
  • Hanging and swinging on hand rails is not permitted.
  • Smoking, gum chewing, and spitting are not permitted.
  • Persons with open sores, cuts, or rashes are not permitted in pool complex; bandages are prohibited in pool.
  • Abusive and/or foul language are prohibited and will not be tolerated.
  • Flotation devices (lifejackets, waterwings, etc.) are not permitted.
  • Sharing of equipment is not permitted.
  • Possession of alcohol in pool complex is prohibited.
  • Individuals assumed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs shall not be permitted into pool complex.
  • Emergency equipment is for emergency lifeguard use only.
  • Only Lifeguards are permitted on lifeguard stands.
  • Private instruction is prohibited in the pool without a permit. 
  • No running is permitted in the facility at any time.
  • There is no diving permitted in the facility.
  • Food and drinks are prohibited in the pool.
  • Glass containers are not allowed in the facility.  
  • Horseplay (shoving, dunking, sitting on shoulders, etc.) is not permitted in pool or on deck.
  • No bicycles or skateboards allowed on pool deck.   
  • For your safety no prolonged breath holding is permitted. 
  • There is no lingering, sunbathing or loitering on deck allowed in between sessions.
  • All entrance fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • Children under 48 inches tall must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older, the adult to child ratio must be 1 to 1.

 

Specific COVID-19 Precautions and Protocols:

  • Daily Screening for all staff and patrons entering the facility
  • Participants must wear a mask at all times when not in the water or shower.
  • Social distancing of six (6) feet must be observed at all times while in the facility.
  • All patrons must enter the facility through the sanitation and symptoms check station at the main entrance off Veteran’s park.
  • Frequent hand washing when not in the pool is encouraged for both staff and patrons.
  • Equipment sharing will not be permitted
  • Participants must bring their own equipment to use. (ie: Kickboard, Pull buoy)
  • It is strongly recommended that participants come to the plunge in their swim suit ready to swim as the Lockers, Locker rooms and Indoor showers are closed.
  • Restrooms will be open and are sanitized after every program block/session. Use at your own risk.
  • Once a session is completed participants must vacate the facility immediately.
  • There is no lingering, sunbathing or loitering on deck allowed in between sessions to allow for facility sanitation and disinfection. 
  • Between each lap swim/program block the facility will be shut down for a disinfection/sanitation period where all high touch surfaces will be sanitized/disinfected prior to the next group entering.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided at the main entrance, near the outdoor showers, and near the exit.
  • Any patron refusing to abide by the above guidelines will be asked to leave.
