Culver City Hires New Assistant City Manager

The City of Culver City is pleased to announce that Michael Bruckner is the City's new Assistant City Manager. He will work alongside fellow Assistant City Manager Jesse Mays and report to City Manager John Nachbar. "I think Harry Culver said it best when he stated that, 'All roads lead to Culver City.' I am deeply honored to be joining the City as Assistant City Manager. I look forward to working with the City’s leadership team to help build upon their foundation of innovation, collaboration, and excellence in service to our community," Mike said. He assumes the position following the retirement of Assistant City Manager Onyx Jones.

Mike, who has extensive experience in local government, has most recently served as the Assistant City Manager in the City of Rosemead. He also worked at the City of Arcadia and City of Palo Alto. With a professional career dedicated to public service, Mike is described as an insightful, natural leader.

Mike's experience includes a wide-range of Citywide public engagement initiatives, homeless outreach, feasibility studies, and city-response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As the new Assistant City Manager, Mike will assist in City projects and strategic goals.

Mike holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Sonoma State University as well as a master’s degree in Public Administration with a certificate in Public Finance from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania.
