Culver City will be launching a “Safe Sleep” location for transitional housing that will soon be available to 40 people experiencing homelessness in Culver City. The Safe Sleep program aims to reduce loss of life, eliminate encampments and provide greater access to resources for unhoused neighbors. This program is set to open doors the first week of August 2023. Safe Sleep site is the first of its kind for Culver City. Twenty transitional suites with around the clock staffing and supportive services – including three meals a day, restrooms, showers, garbage and recycling collection, access to laundry services, health care and additional supports – will be available for residents at the site.

The Safe Sleep location will be operated by Urban Alchemy, a nonprofit that develops other safe sleep sites across the country. Urban Alchemy is an organization with a mission to transform traumatized urban spaces through supportive and compassionate care.  Learn more about the Culver City Safe Sleep site in the video below!
