On May 9, 2022, the City Council directed staff to explore the request of the Culver City Arts District Business Improvement District (CCAD BID) to permanently close Melvil Street, between Washington Boulevard and the alleyway, to support area businesses and provide for increased community open space.

The purpose of this community meeting is to present the CCAD BID’s proposed concept and programming and to subsequently receive community feedback regarding implementing a permanent street closure. Melvil Street has been temporarily closed since September 2020 to assist with economic recovery efforts from the pandemic.

The meeting will be held virtually via Webex (please click on link to register). Participants must register to attend the event.

If you have any questions regarding this matter or would like the virtual meeting link sent to you electronically, please contact Elaine Warner, Economic Development Project Manager, at (310) 253-5777 or elaine.warner@culvercity.org
