Address Assignment Application

Do you need a new address for a new construction, Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU / JADU), utility, suite or office?  This is the right place to apply.

Online

Step 1. Gather your information

  • Property Address
  • Assessor Parcel Number (APN)
  • Property Owner Information
  • Applicant Information (if different from the owner)
    • Applicant will need to provide a Property Owner Authorization Form. 
  • A site plan (8 1/2" x 11")  PDF  that clearly identifies the location of all existing and proposed addresses of the associated structures on the subject property.

Step 2.Apply Online

Fill out and submit the Address Assignment Application.

* If you are applying for an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU/JADU) address(es), the new address will be Unit A ,or subsequent letters, of the main residence address. Example: 1234 Testing St. Unit A.

Step 3.Submit Payment

After you submit your application, usually within 1-2 business days,  you will receive an email with a link to pay for your application.

Step 4.We'll Respond via Email

Once payment is received, the Current Planning Division, will review your application which will take 1-2 weeks to process. Once approved, the assigned Planner will reach out via email with further instructions. 

 

 

 

 

In Person

Step 1.Gather your information

  • Legal Description of Property, if known
  • Property Owner Information
  • Applicant Information (if different from the owner)  
  • A site plan (8 1/2" x 11") that clearly identifies the location of all existing and proposed addresses of the associated structures on the subject property.
  • Other documents may be required as necessary.

Step 3.Bring documents to Current Planning 

Submit your Address Assignment application with property owner signature, site plan, and payment to the Planner on Duty.

The Planner will review your application, which will take 1-2 weeks to process. Once approved, you will be contacted by email/mail with further instructions.
