Special Temporary Outdoor Dining Permits for Covid-19

On June 1, 2020, the Culver City Council issued the 16th Supplement to the Public Order in response to the Covid emergency establishing a no-fee, Temporary Public Right-of-Way Permit for the duration of the crisis.

Unless extended, all Temporary Public Right-of-Way Permits will terminate 12/31/2021. These temporary permits will not be renewed and new temporary permits will not be issued.
The temporary permit allowed Culver City restaurants to expand their dining activities onto adjacent sidewalks and/or public street areas to help serve a larger number of patrons while complying with Covid-19 physical distancing requirements. To further support these outdoor activities, the City temporarily closed street lanes and/or re-routed traffic on designated streets, lanes, alleys, and paseos.

Numerous dining establishments in the Downtown and Arts District areas made use of the street closures.
