Homeless Encampment in Culver City

The City’s Encampment Resolution Program leads with care and service. The City’s multidisciplinary approach to encampment resolution is led by the City Manager’s Office with support from various City departments including Public Works; Housing, Homeless and Human Services; Police; Fire, and contract services.

Culver City prohibits setting up tents or other makeshift shelters, known as Camp Facilities, in certain public places, such as parks, streets, sidewalks, schools and government property. It also prevents storage of certain items, such as personal property, cots, beds, and hammocks, in those public places. You can find the specific language of the prohibition in Culver City Municipal Code Section 9.10.700.
