Ensemble is a permanent installation inspired by the tall wetland's grasses of Ballona Watershed, and their ability to create dense, animated surfaces and volumes propelled by the subtle local winds. Just as separate blades of grass may aggregate and form a complex grassland environment, this large-scale sculpture is a study in how hundreds of separate elements, once arranged, contribute to a monumental composition The gradient color palette reinforces the perception of depth in the artwork, with forward elements being lighter shades, while elements in the back take darker tones. The artwork occupies the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor levels of this mixed use building along Centinela Ave.
