Nine butterflies alight on the façade of the residential building at Ivy Station. Each powder-coated steel butterfly is a unique size in a blue-green gradient of color and is attached to the exterior metal paneling through holes. The smallest butterfly is 4’8 ¼” x 4’9 ¾” and weighs 45 pounds. The largest is 17’6 ¼” x 17’6 ¼” and weighs 610 pounds.
A Southern California artist who is strongly influenced by nature with many 21st-century solo exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles and Europe. Vaughn has created a number of public artworks in Southern California.
